Why hot + cold?

Modern science can help us understand why practices like heat, cold, movement, recovery, and social connection support our health. But in many ways, science is simply helping us understand what humans have known for generations.

β€œWe just now have good scientific data to back up what our grandmothers always knew and were telling us all along.” β€” Dr. Robert Waldinger, Director of the Harvard Study of Adult Development

Humans have gathered around heat for thousands of years. Sauna and cold water have long been part of communal traditions. We believe in returning to what our bodies already know. We aren't meant to exist in isolation, and these practices have endured for a reason. Let's lean in.
